Matthew James Willis (commonly known as Matt Willis) was born 8 May, 1983 in Tooting, South London. After moving to Molesey, a suburban part of Surrey, he was discovered in a karaoke bar and began his singing career doing vocals for a few garage tracks by long-time friend . Soon after, he met James Bourneand the two of them began collaborating and writing songs. After an audition process, the 2 chose Charlie Simpsonto complete their outfit, which would later become the multi-platnium pop band Busted. After a string of eight top 3 hits, including 4 No.1's, the act disbanded in 2005 after Charlie Simpson left to focus on side-project Fightstar.
